Dr. Jennifer Yip

Welcome

Hi, I’m Jen!

If you’re struggling to feel understood or stuck in negative patterns, you’re not alone. I’ve worked with many individuals facing these challenges, and I’ve been there myself. Therapy can help you reconnect with your values and what truly matters to you, deepen your emotional understanding, and guide you toward a life that you can feel good about.

I’m a Registered Psychologist based in Vancouver, BC. I care deeply about supporting thoughtful and curious individuals work through feelings of overwhelm, self-doubt, or disconnection. I offer evidence-based therapy that is compassionate, collaborative, and most importantly, realistic and grounded in the complexity of everyday life. I welcome diversity in my practice, including, but not limited to, individuals who identify as part of racialized, faith-based, or LGBTQ+ communities.

I tend to work well with individuals who are reflective and navigating complex inner lives, whether you have a formal diagnosis or are trying to figure things out. Common concerns I work with include:

Emotional and Internal Struggles

  • Depression, anxiety, or chronic stress

  • Low self-worth, perfectionism, or harsh self-criticism, whether you’re a high achiever or simply hard on yourself

  • Grief – from the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or a hoped-for future

Relational and Identity Challenges

  • Difficulty with connection and closeness in friendships

  • Issues with attachment, boundaries, or fear of abandonment in romantic relationships

  • Complex family dynamics, especially in cross-cultural or immigrant contexts

Creative and Personal Exploration

  • Desire for deeper self-understanding and personal growth

  • Emotional intensity or sensitivity related to a creative or artistic nature

  • Major life transitions or existential questions about meaning and direction
